There are many types of ponds available and each can be customized. Determining the type of pond you want is the first step. The term
"water features" encompasses a wide variety of features from a simple birdbath to an exotic waterfall. It is important to find the
proper location to sustain the type of pond you want to install. Most will be enjoyed more if they are installed close to the
home, an area where you can see the pond year round. Locate where runoff from rain will not flow into the pond. Avoid placing
too close to trees as falling leaves and other debris may need to be removed. You will want to place your pond where it will
receive at least 4 to 6 hours of direct sun if you want to grow water lilies. Shade is fine for fish-only ponds. Water circulation
is not essential but the use of a pump will allow you to keep more fish, it will keep your plants healthier. A pump is required to
run a filter, fountain, or waterfall. The sound of running water adds greatly to the enjoyment of the pond.
After determining
the type and location Godberson Landscaping can install your new pond using the right products to ensure years of enjoyment. The finishing
touches can be created using plants (see our plant library), rocks, stone, water features, virtually any natural products you may
want.
